Southampton UK

The University of Southampton have created the Southampton Marine and Maritime Institute (SMMI) at their Boldrewood Campus. This is a Maritime Centre of Excellence (MCE), and aims to be a world-leading centre for innovation, business and education in maritime engineering sciences and other relevant maritime disciplines at the heart of the Solent Maritime Cluster. The development incorporates the Lloyd's Register Global Technology Centre, the University Engineering Centre of Excellence and a new institute for Marine and Maritime Research. Lloyd's Register are moving 400 members of it's team to the new purpose built facility at Boldrewood, establishing a new Global Technology Centre. This will be the cornerstone of Lloyd's Register global marine research and technology network. Wates Construction are designing and fitting-out the interior of Building 175.
